| Western Red Cedar
contains natural oils that act as preservatives to help the wood
resist insect attack and decay. Cedar is also a dimensionally stable
wood that lies flat and stays straight. Properly finished and
maintained, Western Red Cedar ages gracefully and endures for many
years. |

Historically, native peoples of the Pacific coast
prized cedar for its long lasting qualities and used wood and bark
from cedar trees for most of their building needs. Evidence of
cedar's durability is the many cedar artifacts still in good
condition today. |

This exceptionally beautiful wood has natural
coloring in mellow ambers, reddish cinnamon's and rich sienna
browns. Its warm coloring is complimented by an uniform,
fine-grained texture with a satin luster. It produces long lengths
of timber with true, straight grain. It is free from pitch and make
it an excellent base for all types of paints and stains. The lack of
pitch and resin allow Western Red Cedar to hold glue bonds from a
wide range of adhesives. Our Western Red Cedar is harvested from
managed and sustainable forests. |
